Over a span of 17 days, my wife Marisol and I traveled through Peru and Bolivia. We worked as a team (she speaks Spanish — I speak Spanglish) to find subjects and provide free portraits. We relied on available light in whatever the environment. Using a small portable 4x6 printer with a rechargeable battery, we handed out dozens of portraits. Many people were hesitant to be photographed, but those who accepted were filled with joy. It was a unique feeling to create something for them, make new friends and receive their gratitude.
